More about Biblescopes Scriptures & Definitions of Astrology

These are scriptures that explain my reason for writing Biblescopes as well as vocabulary for astrologist & soothsayers.

Isaiah 47:13,15 NIV “All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month; let them save you from what is coming upon you. That is all they can do for you (read the stars then give you false hope)—these you have labored with and trafficked with since childhood. Each of them (astrologers and their false teaching and readings) goes on in error; there I was with no one who can save me (but God Himself). (Emphasis mine)

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells or who is a medium or spiritualist, or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to God…”

Psalms 119:105 “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Psalms 119: 109
“Though I constantly take my own life in my own hands, I will not forget your law.”

Isaiah 47: 13, 15
“All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you. That is all they can do for you (read the stars then give than give you false hope)--these you have labored with and trafficked with since childhood. Each of them (astrologers and their false teaching and readings) goes on in error, there is no one who can save you (but God Himself).”

Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

I Peter 5:8 “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

Leviticus 19:31 (NKJV) “Do not turn to mediums or seek spiritists for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.”

Chapter 3: Birth of Biblescopes Part 2

To get you started, it may help you understand the concept of Biblescopes and what they are used for with definitions. So, we'll review them here. The primary mission statement for the book is this: "The book, Biblescopes: Prophecy from One Who Created the Stars, is a book to help you study the Psalms and Proverbs making them an active part of your life so that you may hear from God and get to know King David and his life's struggles. At the same time, you will understand Songs of Solomon (Song of Songs), a guide for practical living."

Definitions in Review

Biblescope
: direction and encouragement for the day from Psalms and Proverbs that corresponds with the day of the month.

Biblical Life Sign: are symbols of your character taken from the Living Word and your personal Biblical Life Prophecy.
Biblical Personality Characteristics: abbreviated list referencing your characteristics and the importance of who you are according to God's Word. You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Birth Prophecy: is the concept God revealed to me at the birth of my grandson, Collin. It is the Psalm and Proverb read on the day of one’s birth that corresponds to that day. Collin was born on the 26th. His Birth Psalm is the twenty-sixth and Proverb is the twenty-sixth.
Life Prophecy: is expounded Birth Psalms based on all applicable Psalms and Proverbs from the ‘Plus 30 Principle’ to give a more complete picture of God’s plan for your life. If you were born on the sixteenth, your Life Prophecy comes from Psalms 16, 46, 76, 106, 136, and Proverbs 16.
Plus Thirty Principle: is based on a study of Psalms and Proverbs that allows you to completely read both books in one month. It is the basic foundation of the development of Biblescopes.

The concepts are out of circumstances of my life and that of some of my family. Progression of these Biblescopes terms seem linear, however, they are not. You can go from the Holy Word of God to Biblescopes and Birth Psalms, then go from Biblescopes to Life Signs and Personality Characteristics. Go to Birth Psalms and then to Life Prophecies and the Plus Thirty Principle. Going back to the Word of God at anytime helps find a fresh new Biblescopes and answers to what God has planned. Each concept is founded on the Word of God.

Biblescopes was named by my sister-in-law about 12 years ago sitting in her kitchen in Oklahoma. I read her Birth Psalm to her and she began crying because she said the things I said, from God's Word, I could not know on my own. She had never told me about not knowing that she had been fatherless all of her life. (Psalm 10:14)

Another component of significance is help for depression. From the Word, I looked for answers on how to overcome depression and have faith for healing. Those concepts are the ones I use to help with my own depression. It comes in waves and if I recognize it, when it comes to overwhelm me, I can thwart it quickly and eliminate it completely. I have been set free from depression just since I began putting this blog book together. I have had a psychiatric MD tell me that I no longer have depression and am now free from its destructive outcomes.
Free! For this I give You praise, Lord God.

Chapter 3: Birth of Biblescopes Part 1

In Ephesians 6: 12 the topic of a supernatural fight that goes on daily in the spirit realm becomes a realty when we take the time to listen to the Holy Spirit. If, in this life, we could peel back the curtain that separates the physical realm and the supernatural world, what a shock it would be to see heavenly warring angels battling fallen angels and demonic spirits from hell for the safety of our souls. That fight is for our peace of mind, our hope in future eternity, our financial stability, our marriages and family integrity, our health, and most importantly, our salvation. We would have a better picture of the battle that has been going on since the day of Lucifer's fall from Heaven.

Ephesians 6: 12 states, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm."

God woos us to Himself until we see our need for His salvation. He never gives up on us and His Word is living proof. False prophets (soothsayers, psychics, astrologers, and tarot card readers) say they can tell us our future but that is a lie. Satan doesn't have any idea what the future holds except that he has no future but eternity in Hades or the bottomless pit. He doesn't even know when Christ will return. His knowledge in his future is limited by his sinful, rebellious
ways.

Lucifer can only interfere with the present and use past eternity to confuse us concerning our future hope. Any attempt, by Satan and his cohorts,to tell you your future is based on supposition and false prophecy. Only God is all seeing and all knowing. Satan isn't a god; he's a fallen angel who wanted to be a god. Satan has no knowledge of the future except that his own end, in coming eternity, will happen in the greatest battle of Armageddon, when Christ returns to reestablish a new Jerusalem, and he knows his punishment for his unpardonable sin--blaspheme against the God of the very God will be his eternal end. Satan wanted to dethrone God for his own selfish, narcissistic reason seeing himself better than Jehovah God.

So, let's put the lie from the false prophet, Satan, aside for now and get started on this amazing journey of finding victory for living each day standing on a firm foundation--God's Living Word.

David and others who authored the Psalms actually put together prayers for any situation and circumstance. David allowed God to see his heart in his prayers and
his confessions. Today, these prayers, songs, and hymns are for us to use for the same purposes as David. Those purposes may include, but not be limited to,
the following.
  • Praise and adoration of our Heavenly Father
  • Repentance and forgiveness
  • Thanksgiving
  • Supplication
  • Restoration and healing
  • Power found in the fruit of the Spirit
  • Protection found in preparation for battle
  • Music to soothe you & lift up the name of Jesus
From David's life, I have taken courage and
encouragement
to know I am okay. My ups and downs are normal behavior and I can still please God with my life. His unconditional love makes this possible. His constant presence in my life is the hope I hold onto when storms come. He is ever-present for me when I am full of joy. Jesus calms my storms or gives me the courage to get out of the boat and walk toward the anchor Himself.

Chapter 2: The Lord is My Shepherd

I was born on the 16th of May in 1952. After a very difficult labor my tiny Mom gave birth to me with great struggle and pain. It took her 3 days to birth me--her first born child. First miracle in my life! During the height of the polio epidemic in February 1955, I woke up from an afternoon nap burning up with fever. I was so hot my mother couldn't hardly touch me so she wrapped me in a blanket and took me to the hospital where they confirmed what she feared. I was diagnosed with poliomyelolitis and encephalitis. I was in a coma for seven days and the doctors said there was no chance for recovery. If I survived the fever, I would be mentally retarded and I would never walk again. With my mother's meticulous care for my recovery, to starting elementary school, I recuperated from all deficits of the disease poliomyelitis and I walked to my first day of school in 1956. Second miracle!

My baby sister was born at the same time I started school and then my brother 10 years after me. I loved them so much and eventual life circumstances put me, basically, in care of them until I left home when I was 17 years old. My father also became an alcoholic at the same time my brother was born --no relationship. I was ten when alcoholism moved into our home and kept its grip on my family until my father went into recovery when I was 23 years old. Dad tried to stop on his own but could not. It wasn't until Mom had divorced him that he committed himself to a recovery program based on the ten steps and Christian instruction. My father ask Jesus for two things: to have his family back and for Jesus to be his Savior. It was too late for his marriage but perfect timing for his healing--physically, spiritually and emotionally. My father has been sober for 35 years. Third miracle! Praise the Lord!

Let me make a disclaimer at this point that addresses my relationship to my parents. My father was an alcoholic from the time I was in fourth grade and my mother used co-dependency, rage, and bitterness to control her own life until the day she died. I had not seen or spoken to my mom for 14 years up to her death--that was her choice not mine.

My father is still living and has been sober, as I said, for 35 years. I have no regrets except I wish I could have been a part of my mother's life when she became so sick. I know my parents love(d) me. I love them. I have forgiven them whatever I felt they owed me or didn't do for me or how they hurt me when I was growing up. I am who I am today because of their parenting.

My mother's Protestant Scots background and my father's Irish Catholic heritage religiously impacted my growing up more from the heated and very boisterous debates or arguments some might say! Family harmony and conversations were never held below yelling level. However, the greatest positive and blessed influence on my growing up screwed up comes from memories of my childhood spent with my grandparents and attending Whitfield Estates Presbyterian Church in Florida. My grandfather was a founding elder there and, when I was 12 years old, I learned what I needed for catechism. The part of that learning experience that is still a part of me is the Twenty-third Psalm. It puts me to sleep even if I have to repeat it 2-3 times, as it comforts me and it soothes me, when I have situations that are difficult to handle. Although the Lord didn't become my shepherd truly until I was nine, I had a real encounter with Jesus the Great Shepherd and asked Him to come into my heart and stay there to never leave me. At this time Jesus became my best friend.

Journaling Assignment on Psalm 23
Use Psalm 23 for your reflection today. Without any instruction other than to read this scripture, empty yourself from any preconceived notions you have about this Psalm and write what God is saying to you from this Psalm. It is a prayer from David at a time when he needed rest and safety even around his enemies. Trust what you hear from God and write what you hear. He speaks in a still small voice.

Chapter One: A Beginning

At a time in my life when I was overwhelmed with circumstances and sickness, a very dear friend of mine explained to me that I had to get up out of my despair and seek God's face--truly seek Him. He encouraged me to read Psalms and Proverbs daily and let these scriptures be my personal pleas and prayers to my Lord and Savior. As I read daily and journaled God's messages to me, I began to find healing and hope like I'd never known before. Concepts of Biblescopes took time to emerge as I began to apply them to my personal life circumstances. Scripture says that those who consult mediums and practice divination to plan their future are detestable to God. See Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (NIV).

Impact of having God's Word applied to your life is dynamically enlightening to such an extent that you are strengthened supernaturally, spiritually, physically and emotionally. Your emotional health will improve exponentially! In Psalms 119:105 (NIV) God provides light for direction and He promises to show us His paths and that ever-present illumination even when we choose to take roads that may lead us to a place of our own self-directed wants and needs.
God does not desert us at any time in our lives. He stays the rudder and waits for us to return to Him.

Journaling Assignment--Start slowly by reading the Psalm that corresponds with today's date. If it is Monday the thirtieth of March 2010, read Psalm 30. Make notes in this book about what God is saying to you about yourself and/or those you love. Reading from a modern day translation helps with understanding personal content of scriptures. I prefer New International Version(NIV). Say a prayer for guidance from the Holy Spirit to teach you.

Here is an example prayer: "Holy Spirit, teach me from your Word today things I need to know to follow your directions and instructions that I might serve you and others. Take from me any preconceived notions about this scripture so that I may receive a fresh word from you today."
In Jesus' name...Amen

Introduction to Biblescopes

How many times in your life have you read your horoscope or looked at a astrological profile of your zodiac sign and wondered in amazement just how many of those characteristics truly define you? Merriam-Webster defines horoscopes as a "diagram of relative positions of planets and signs of the zodiac at a particular time for use by astrologers to foretell events of a person's life." What if there was an alternative, indisputable way to determine what the day holds for you and, in addition, uncover ways to cope with difficult situations, as well as, treasure the victorious outcomes which are in store for you.

All of this
and you never have to read another horoscope again! Biblescopes is that alternative; hope and instruction is for everyday from the Holy Word of God taking place of reading horoscopes and consulting stars. Instead of relying on "divination based on supposed influence of stars upon human events," seek advice and guidance from One who created the heavens, stars, the whole universe, and earth. I hope as you read this blogbook, you will learn how to use the Bible for daily instruction for living from Psalms and Proverbs in lieu of astrological forecasting, reading tarot cards, or seeking the counsel of a psychic. Biblescopes will show you that God's Word is holy, alive and active--a two-edged sword.

II Timothy 3:16
says that God's Word is given to us for many reasons. Paul says it better than me.

"All scripture is God-breathed and is used for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so (you) the man (or woman) of God may thoroughly be equipped for every good work." (Parentheses mine.)

What in the World is Biblescopes?

Biblescopes is a theme based on scripture that tells you what the day may bring and how to get God's attention for specific needs you or someone else may be having. It also encourages you, lifts you up when you're down, and even admonishes you if you're not doing what God expects. Here are some definitions:
  • Biblescopes is direction and encouragement for the day from Psalms and Proverbs that corresponds with the day of the month.
  • Biblical Life Prophecies are expounded Birth Psalms based on all applicable Psalms and Proverbs from the Plus Thirty Principle to give a more complete picture of God's plan for your whole life.
  • Biblical Life Signs from Psalms and Proverbs are symbols of your character taken from Psalms and Proverbs and from your personal Biblical Life Prophecy.
  • Birth Psalm is the concept God revealed to me at the birth of my grandson, Collin. It is the Psalm read on the day of your birth that corresponds to that day. Collin's Birth Psalm is the 26th of January so we read Psalm 26 & Proverbs 26. My Birth Psalm is from Psalm 16 & Proverb 16.
  • Biblical Personal Characteristics come from your Life Prophecies as they refer to the person you truly are.
  • Plus Thirty Principle is based on a study of the Psalms and Proverbs that allows you to read both books in one month. It is the basic foundation for developing Biblescopes.
I use New International Version (NIV) Bible, the King James Version (KJV) Bible, American Standard Version, and Strong's NIV Concordance as well as Internet resources. You may want to keep one with you while you read this book along with a Bible Dictionary or regular Webster's Collegiate Dictionary. Even though these definitions won't be in any of them, you can break the words down and build the definitions just as I did. Plus, these are simple components with easy definitions. I did come up with the Plus Thirty Principle. It didn't have a name, I don't think, however, I was taught this method of instruction from our youth pastor. So, I give him the credit for the method that I named Plus Thirty Principle.

Biblescopes is written from Psalms and Proverbs for each day. Today is February 18th, 2010. The month and the year have nothing to do with writing a Biblescope. It's just the day used for a Biblescope. I will continue this information on my next blog page. Isn't this a beautiful snow day? I'm glad we had one day to enjoy the snow. This is God's picture of death--beautiful, peaceful, white and pure, a soft, powdery covering like the cover He is to us everyday. God's seasons are specific to His circle of life. They are word pictures of His artistic creativity. Meditate on this one! Listen to the Holy Spirit direct you as you learn about the seasons of God and the comparison to our lives. This gorgeous snow view is of our front yard from our front porch.
